Teaching Dale Henderson began teaching in 1991 and immediately came to love the excitement and joy of communicating musical ideas as an educator. While studying at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Dale became acutely aware that children from lower income families – especially inner city kids – generally have far less exposure to classical music, and far fewer opportunities to pursue classical music studies. Frustrated with this untapped talent pool, Dale sought a faculty position at the Community Music Center of Boston – an organization long devoted to providing scholarships and affordable classical music education to lower income families.
